4 Reasons Tin Can API (xAPI) Is NOT Just a New Version of SCORM

Infopro Learning

For well over a decade the Sharable Content Object Reference Model, or SCORM as it’s affectionately known, has been the standard for tracking eLearning. SCORM is established and trusted but limited, which has given rise to a new standard, Experience API or Tin Can API (The name depends on who you ask, but refers to the same thing). While very similar in function, it is important to note that Tin Can API is not SCORM with a new name, nor is Tin Can simply an upgrade.

Where I Get Blog Post Ideas

Experiencing eLearning

When I talk to people about starting a blog, they often state they don’t have anything to write about. They ask how I come up with ideas, especially when I’ve been blogging so long. I get stuck on writing sometimes, just like everyone else, but I’ve figured out ways to work through those blocks.

Learning is a Marathon, Not a Sprint

LearnDash

When I have conversations with people about elearning, training, and all things related, it I find a curious similarity in the way these events are described. All seem to be referred to as standalone, finite events. While less common in the educational sector, I found this to be unanimously true with my corporate consulting engagements. Leadership wanted to define the single learning event, creating training (both elearning and instructor-led events ), schedule the delivery, and measure the resu
